Learn how to permanently delete your TrucklineMP account and what data is removed.

Accessing Account Deletion

  1. Click your avatar in the top-right corner
  2. Select Settings
  3. Select the Danger tab
  4. Or navigate to trucklinemp.com/user/me/settings?tab=danger

Before You Delete

Consider These Alternatives

Section titled “Consider These Alternatives”
  • Take a break — You can simply stop using TrucklineMP without deleting
  • Transfer VTC ownership — If you own a VTC, transfer it first
  • Export your data — Request a data export before deleting
  • Disconnect accounts — Remove connections if you plan to re-register

Important Warnings

  • This action is permanent and irreversible
  • All your data will be permanently removed
  • You cannot recover your account after deletion
  • Your username and handle may be available for others to use

What Gets Deleted

Permanently Removed

Section titled “Permanently Removed”
  • Your profile (name, handle, picture, social links)
  • All VTC memberships and roles
  • Your activity history
  • Forum posts and threads
  • Event participation records
  • Configuration data
  • Staff notes about you
  • Session data
  • Connected account information

What May Remain

  • VTC ownership must be transferred before deletion
  • Some anonymized data may be retained for analytics
  • Legal records may be kept as required by law

How to Delete Your Account

Step 1: Initiate Deletion

Section titled “Step 1: Initiate Deletion”
  1. Go to Settings > Danger tab
  2. Click Delete Account
  3. A confirmation modal appears

Step 2: Wait for Cooldown

Section titled “Step 2: Wait for Cooldown”
  • A 5-second countdown starts
  • This prevents accidental deletions
  • You cannot proceed until the countdown finishes

Step 3: Confirm Deletion

Section titled “Step 3: Confirm Deletion”
  1. Type DELETE in the confirmation box
  2. The delete button becomes active after the cooldown
  3. Click Delete My Account

Step 4: Completion

  • Your account is immediately deleted
  • You are signed out
  • You are redirected to the homepage
  • A success notification confirms the deletion

After Deletion

What Happens

Section titled “What Happens”
  • You are signed out of all sessions
  • Your profile page returns a 404 error
  • Your VTC memberships are removed
  • Your forum posts may remain but are anonymized

Can I Re-Register?

  • Yes, you can create a new account with the same email
  • Your old data will not be restored
  • Your username and handle may be available
  • VTC ownership cannot be recovered

Before Deleting: Checklist

  • Transfer VTC ownership (if you own a VTC)
  • Request a data export
  • Save any important information
  • Note your backup codes (if 2FA is enabled)
  • Disconnect external accounts (optional)
  • Unsubscribe from emails

If You’re Frustrated

  • Contact support via Discord to resolve issues
  • Take a break from the platform
  • Adjust your privacy settings

If You Want a Fresh Start

  • Change your display name and handle
  • Update your profile picture
  • Clear your activity by leaving VTCs
  • Export your data first

If You’re Concerned About Privacy

  • Hide external configurations
  • Toggle YouTube/Twitch visibility
  • Review and revoke authorized apps
  • Disconnect unused connections

Troubleshooting

”I can’t delete my account”

  • Ensure you’ve typed DELETE exactly
  • Wait for the 5-second cooldown to finish
  • Check that you don’t own a VTC (transfer ownership first)

“I own a VTC and can’t delete”

  • Transfer ownership to another member first
  • Go to VTC Settings > Danger Zone > Transfer Ownership
  • Once transferred, you can delete your account

”I deleted my account and want it back”

  • Account deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed
  • You can create a new account
  • Contact support if you believe the deletion was a mistake
