When your Discord account is linked to TrucklineMP, the TrucklineMP Discord bot can forward certain site notifications to you as Discord DMs.

This is separate from VTC Announcements webhooks (those post to channels in your VTC server). Discord notifications are personal DMs from the platform bot.

Requirements

  1. Discord linked under Connections on trucklinemp.com
  2. DMs allowed from TrucklineMP / server members in your Discord privacy settings
  3. Notification type must be eligible for Discord relay (not every bell item is mirrored)

How it works

  1. Something happens on TrucklineMP (application update, event notice, etc.)
  2. A row is created in your notification list (website bell)
  3. The bot picks up the notification and sends a DM embed with a link back to the site
  4. The notification is marked as sent to Discord to avoid duplicates

If you are offline, the bot backfills recent unsent notifications when it catches up.

What DMs look like

DMs use embeds with:

  • Short title and description
  • Link to the relevant trucklinemp.com page
  • TrucklineMP branding

They are informational. Reply to DMs is not a support channel. Use Support Tickets for staff help.

Troubleshooting

No DMs but bell notifications work

  • Confirm Discord is still connected in Settings
  • Open Discord User Settings > Privacy & Safety and allow DMs
  • Unblock the TrucklineMP bot if you blocked it earlier
  • Re-link Discord under Connections

DMs stopped after leaving a server

Personal notification DMs do not require you to stay in any particular server. If DMs still fail, re-authorize the connection.

Duplicate or missing messages

The bot sends each notification once. Refresh the website bell if counts disagree. Missing DMs may arrive after a short delay during high load.
